McLean Hospital VISION OF EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNERS

McLean Hospital's Vision of Excellence Award is an opportunity for the hospital community to show its appreciation for employees who contribute to the overall excellence of McLean. The six individuals selected this year exemplify McLean's longstanding commitment to superior patient care, research and teaching.

John Cavanaugh, Human Resources generalist. "John has a wonderful connection with new employees and he also maintains an ongoing working relationship with departments and individuals throughout the hospital. He is consistently helpful and caring to everyone." Catharine Cook, chief development officer, has an exuberant personality and a genuine admiration for the work McLean performs. "When Cathie is telling people about the work we do at McLean, her eyes light up and it is hard not to get excited. She is really the perfect person for the job."
Marilee Florence, training coordinator for the Massachusetts General/McLean Hospital Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program (now retired). "Marilee is a true team player with a vision of excellence in service to the mission of our hospital and the residency training program." Ed Holden, Administrator, Research Information Systems, "is responsive, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. His greatest strength is his accessibility. He is always there when you need him, and he always looks for ways to improve the service he provides to the research community."
John "Rube" Montcrieff, Buildings and grounds supervisor, does everything he can to run a smooth operation. He even learned how to speak Spanish to better communicate with his staff. "It wasn’t easy for Rube, but the effort paid off. It is another example of his unfaltering dedication to his employees and to McLean." Steve Seiner, MD, Director of the Geriatric Outpatient Clinic and Assistant Director of the Electro-Convulsive Therapy Service, is known for his kindness, sincerity and dedication to quality care. "Dr. Seiner is always willing to accommodate a patient in need. He is sincere and unfailingly polite to everyone he comes in contact with."
