- Bio: Dr. Chialant is originally from Rome, Italy and completed her Laurea at the University of Perugia, Italy with a dissertation in Neurolinguistics in 1988. She was then awarded a 3-year National Fellowship to conduct post-doctoral studies and research on language processing and language deficits at the Scuola Normale di Pisa in Italy. She subsequently completed a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science at the Johns Hopkins University in 1995 with a dissertation on lexical processing and lexical deficits in stroke patients. She obtained a Retraining Certificate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1998 after completing an APA accredited internship at Tewksbury State Hospital, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. She then held a position as Research Associate at the Department of Psychology of Harvard University from 1998 to 2001, publishing extensively in the field of language deficits in stroke patients, while also working on her Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship at McLean Hospital, which she completed in 2002. Since 2002 she has remained on staff in the Neuropsychology Department of McLean Hospital. She completed a 2-year fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis and has received extensive training in Meditation and Psychotherapy at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center and at other institutes. She currently is the Psychologist in Charge at the Memory Disorders Clinic at McLean Hospital and an Instructor in Psychology at the Department of Psychiatry of the Harvard Medical School. She also provides clinical services in private practice in Cambridge, specializing in individual psychotherapy and forensic neuropsychology. In her spare time she likes to learn about real estate investments, interior design and remodeling, and to take care of her pets.
