- Degree(s): Melissa received her B.Sc. in Neuroscience from Bates College in Lewiston, ME in May, 2007. Her undergraduate research focused on the therapeutic and anti-dyskinesic effects of caffeine, dopamine D1 antagonists and adenosine A1 agonists in hemi-parkinsonian rats. Her senior thesis was entitled "Effects of a D1 antagonist, adenosine A1 agonist, and caffeine on L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia in a 6-OHDA rat model of Parkinson's disease".
- Bio: In the Behavioral Genetics Lab, Melissa performs studies designed to examine in rats the mechanisms of reward and depression using the intracranial self-stimulation (ICSS) model and forced swim test.
