RYAN MCBAIN
- McLean title(s): Clinical Research Assistant
- Telephone: (617) 855-3688
- Fax: (617) 855-3611
- Degree(s): Ryan received his B.A. in Psychology from Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and spent his senior year as an undergraduate at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
- Bio: Within the domain of clinical neuroscience, Ryan's principle interest is the bi-directional interaction of specific neural mechanisms and environmental contexts which facilitate the manifestation of psychotic symptoms (e.g., hallucinations, delusions) in individuals. This symptomology is exhibited in a broad spectrum of disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, capgras syndrome, charles bonnett syndrome, delirium), each of which possesses a unique etiology and yet gives rise to similar perceptual aberrations. It is this paradox which Ryan is most eager to resolve.
