- Bio: Dr. Ostovar is the Director of the Center for Neurodevelopmental Services (CNS) at McLean Hospital, an innovative program which provides services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Dr. Ostovar is a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She is the Fellowship and Training Program Director of the Center for Neurodevelopmental Services (CNS) at McLean Hospital. In this capacity, Dr. Ostovar is in charge of the direct clinical supervision of fellows, interns, residents, and other trainees interested in learning about the educational and clinical needs of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Ostovar, by training, is a Child and Adolescent Clinical Neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of developmental and psychiatric disorders. This includes a subspecialty in the early diagnosis and evaluation of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Ostovar has a specific expertise in neuropsychological and developmental testing for children birth to young adults and designs specific treatment programs including educational, clinical, behavioral, and family interventions. In addition, Dr. Ostovar has tremendous experience with developing and overseeing child mental health programs at different levels.
Dr. Ostovar has extensive experience with academic challenges and learning issues related to children with psychiatric and developmental disorders and has served as a consultant to many schools and programs on developing appropriate and effective educational and behavioral programs for students with special needs.
Dr. Ostovar has a wide knowledge of the various treatment modalities for individuals with psychiatric and developmental disorders including ABA, Floor Time, and PECCS. In addition, she has extensive experience with social pragmatic language therapy, both individual and group therapy format, and has developed a social pragmatics curriculum for children and adolescents.
Dr. Ostovar is the author of the book "Helping Your Child Overcome Sensory Processing Disorder" due for release in 2009 by Fair Winds Press. She also wrote the chapter entitled " An Overview of Adolescent Development" for the book, "Helping Your Troubled Teen", released in 2007.
