*Dr. Saad also has a subspecialty expertise in providing culturally sensitive consultation and therapy to clients with an Arab background. She speaks English and Arabic fluently and is proficient in French. Her personal travels and professional consultations have taken her repeatedly to Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. As such, she is very familiar with cultural norms and expectations. She provides culturally sensitive therapy tailored to a Middle Eastern clientele and she consults and lectures on this topic.*
- Bio: Rima Saad, Ph.D., is a clinical instructor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. She has worked with patients with diverse and complex clinical presentations in her capacity as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) consultant at the Pavilion program for more than a decade. She has an interest in emerging evidencebased treatments including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mentalisation based therapy (MBT).
Dr. Saad also has extensive experience as a group therapist, having led groups on an inpatient, partial, residential and outpatient basis. She has led 1000s of groups ranging from psycho-educational to skills oriented to interpersonal process oriented groups. She is also active as a supervisor to practicum students, psychology interns and post docs, and psychiatry residents.
