Program Features

Boy on computer

At Pathways, children with similar cognitive, learning and developmental profiles are clustered together to facilitate group learning. Additionally, each child is provided with an individualized education program that fosters his/her own competence and academic growth. Social pragmatics are a core curriculum item for all students. This form of therapy is provided in group format and integrated into each student’s individual learning program. Pathways Academy also provides other speech/language support, as well as occupational therapy and sensory integration, as needed.

Staff

The Pathways staff is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of certified special education teachers, developmental neuropsychologists, speech/language pathologists and occupational therapists trained in working with children with Asperger’s Syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. Led by Roya Ostovar, PhD, director, and Laura Mead, MEd, educational administrator, the team works closely to integrate academic and clinical services for each student.
