Residency Alumni Association

The goal of the McLean Hospital Residency Alumni Association is to reconnect alumni as a professional community, create a national referral network, support residency training initiatives and provide updates about clinical, research and educational programs at McLean. The McLean Alumni Committee, composed of McLean professional staff volunteers, oversees the management of the residency alumni database, production of an annual newsletter and planning of an annual alumni event at a major professional convention or meeting site.

Psychiatry Alumni Association Chairperson, Michael Murphy, MD ’98, was editor for the first edition of the alumni newsletter. The newsletter contains information on the hospital’s thriving research, clinical and educational programs as well as the alumni “class notes” section helpful in reconnecting to the hospital and to old friends. Alumni are encouraged to contribute both professional news items and personal updates for upcoming editions of the newsletter. Annual Social Event

Each year an alumni social event will be held at a major convention or seminar site. In the past, this has occurred at the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting. There has also been interest in having a more casual social event for alumni, perhaps in the summertime. Anyone interested in attending or getting involved in the planning of this event can contact the Alumni Association email address: psychiatryalumni@mclean.harvard.edu.

If you would like to represent your residency class in organizational activities of the McLean Psychiatry Alumni Association, please contact us at psychiatryalumni@mclean.harvard.edu. Volunteers will be asked for no more than five hours of service per year. The following alumni members have volunteered as class representatives.
