A Continuing Education Conference for Pediatricians and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Thursday, May 19, 2005 Shipley Auditorium Newton Wellesley Hospital 2014 Washington Street Newton, Massachusetts 02462 Course DescriptionPsychiatric problems in children and adolescents are an increasing problem. Given the current shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists in the United States, pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners are being called upon to diagnose and treat these disorders. The aim of this conference is to present an update on depression and the SSRI controversy and an update on screening tools. This series is designed exclusively for pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners. Learning will occur in a variety of formats, including didactic presentations, question and answer sessions, and case presentations.AccreditationPhysicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of McLean Hospital and Partners Psychiatry and Mental Health. McLean Hospital is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. McLean Hospital designates each of these educational activities for a maximum of 5.5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.Nurses: These conferences meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (244 CMR 5.00) for 6.6 contact hours of nursing continuing education credit for each conference.
