McLean Hospital, the largest psychiatric teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, offers a fully accredited residency program in both adult and child psychiatry, in conjunction with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). McLean also offers full-time, pre-doctoral psychology internships fully accredited by the American Psychological Association, active training programs in social work, nursing and rehabilitation services, as well as extensive postdoctoral and fellowship-level programs in basic research science.

Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital Psychiatry Residency Training Program
The Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital Psychiatry Residency Training Program offers concentration areas in both adult and child psychiatry. Both the adult and child and adolescent programs have been designed to offer residents a well-balanced clinical experience, a broad range of exposure to individuals within MGH and McLean Hospital for diagnostic assessment, treatment and prevention of psychopathology, a formal curriculum covering the major areas of psychiatry, supervision in outpatient, inpatient, acute residential and partial hospital settings and consultation experiences in the context of a graduated learning experience. Residents develop growing competence in clinical service, consultation, teaching, research and administration.
A wide variety of clinical clerkships, closely supervised by seasoned professionals, is also available for medical students. McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Pre-Doctoral Internship Training Program in Clinical Psychology

The McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Internship Training Program is a full-time, pre-doctoral psychology internship fully accredited by the American Psychological Association. The program is available to eligible third-and fourth-year graduate students enrolled in APA-approved doctoral programs in clinical or counseling psychology. All interns receive appointments at Harvard Medical School as clinical fellows in the Department of Psychiatry.
The McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School internship is committed to providing its trainees with the highest quality clinical, research and supervisory experiences that will help prepare them for challenging careers in psychology. The program was the recipient of the 2006 APPIC award for excellence in internship training.
