Catherine Steiner-Adair, Ed.D.

Catherine Steiner-Adair is a clinical psychologist, school consultant, author and teacher who has worked in the fields of education and psychology for twenty five years. Catherine's clinical work and research in the areas of girls' development and understanding, treating and preventing eating disorders is internationally recognized. She has consulted to over 350 independent and public schools as well as camps, non-profit organizations and clinical/academic institutions. In addition to eating disorders prevention and treatment, her areas of expertise include risk and resilience factors in children's development, the impact of culture on gender identity, social relationships and moral development, and a range of topics concerning education and parenting. She has a private practice where she works with adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Catherine is a Clinical Instructor in Psychology at McLean Hospital and in the Department of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School. She was on the teaching faculty of The Family Institute of Cambridge for 12 years and, before that, a school psychologist and teacher at Phillips Academy Andover and Dana Hall School.

Lisa Sjostrom, Ed.M.

Lisa Sjostrom is an accomplished writer, teacher, trainer, and nationally-recognized program designer who has devoted her professional life to helping kids thrive. Lisa has worked with and on behalf of children for nearly two decades, first as a teacher in K-12 classrooms and then as a curriculum designer at leading institutions including Harvard University, Wellesley College and the Ms. Foundation for Women. Along with eating disorders prevention, her areas of expertise include bullying prevention, community building, character education, and gender equity.

Lisa's widely-acclaimed curricula are making a positive difference in schools and communities across the country. She is author/co-author of the following: Bullyproof: A Teacher's Guide on Teasing and Bullying in School; Citizenship in Action: Bringing Civics to Life in Middle School;, Flirting or Hurting: A Teacher's Guide to Student-to-Student Sexual Harassment in School; Making Connections: Building Gender Dialogue and Community in Middle School; The Principals' Guide to Open Circle; Connections: A Teacher's Guide to Take Our Daughters to Work Day; and the forthcoming book Making Art Together: How Collaborative Art-Making Can Change Kids, Classrooms & Communities for the Better.

Lisa is a Project Director at McLean Hospital, a Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School, and the Director of Helping Kids Thrive, an educational consulting firm.
