Easing Community Transitions
At the CRU, a primary goal of treatment is to help individuals regain their health in the least amount of time spent in the hospital so that they may return safely and independently to their home, community residence or other outpatient treatment setting. The CRU staff works closely with individuals and their family members to actively plan the care and services patients receive after leaving the program. These services may include outpatient, day treatment, psychopharmacology and community support services.
Expert Clinical Team
The CRU staff is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed independent clinical social workers, registered nurses and expressive therapists. This highly trained and experienced team provides rapid, accurate diagnosis, thorough treatment planning, after-care planning and high-quality care tailored to each individual's needs.
Outcome-Oriented Care
Patient satisfaction is of primary importance to McLean. To ensure that those standards remain at the highest level, the CRU uses McLean's highly sensitive patient feedback instrument, "Perceptions of Care," to continuously monitor patient satisfaction. Equally important to providing superior patient care is ensuring that care is effective. To carry out this crucial mandate, the CRU staff employs McLean's BASIS-24™, a psychiatric outcomes measurement tool endorsed by the Joint Commission for Accreditation on Healthcare Organizations.
BASIS-24 is a new version of the original BASIS-32, which was developed at McLean Hospital during the 1980s and is now used by more than 500 psychiatric and behavioral health facilities around the world.
