Waverley Place
The Community Support Program of McLean Hospital
Paul Barreira, MD, Program Director
Dana Holley, LICSW, Program Manager
McLean Hospital's Waverley Place is a community program offering comprehensive, coordinated care and support for adults with chronic psychiatric illness.
Program Features
Once an individual is accepted into the program, staff review the person’s current life circumstances, including housing, employment, education, psychiatric services, spiritual and social needs. The individual and staff then collaborate to design a rehabilitation and living program based on the unique needs and goals of the person. Each member of Waverley Place has access to all members of the multidisciplinary staff, including social workers, a rehabilitation counselor, an occupational therapist and peer counselors. Peer counselors are individuals who are living healthy and productive lives managing their psychiatric illness.Resource and Support Center

Experiences in creativity and competence support recovery and assist members who wish to enter or return to work. Waverley Card Productions incorporates members into various aspects of greeting card design, production and marketing/sales. At the Community Greenhouse Project, members help design and manage a greenhouse business, produce horticulture products year-round and sell products directly to customers. Members can move from pre-employment readiness to outside competitive placement if they choose or continue participating as a working member of a consumer-initiated cooperative business.
Information and Referral
Members can be self-referred, referred from programs and providers at McLean, or referred by outside programs and providers. There is a monthly membership fee of $200, but because the program is funded in part by an endowment, a reduction in fees is available for those who qualify.
