McLean Jumps Up in Ranking of Top NIH-funded Hospitals

June 30th, 2005

McLean's national ranking for the funding awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has jumped up a notch, to number 14. McLean's research program ranks 14th out of the 124 independent hospitals that receive NIH funding nationwide and was one of only 24 hospitals in the country that received more than $10 million in federal funds.

Because all of the top five research hospitals (and eight of the top fifteen) are in the greater Boston area, the achievement of being the largest research program based in a private psychiatric hospital setting is often overlooked, but it is important to remember McLean is truly unique in its ability to provide clinical care informed by the advances of a world class research program.
